Aisha Jamila is an American actress who is best recognized for her appearances on the TV shows The Shield and True Blood. Since her debut she has demonstrated her range of talents by appearing in series like Under the Dome, 9-1-1 Detroit and 1-8-7. First noticed in 2005 for the role of Anna which was featured on Assault on Precinct 13 It was however her portrayal of the women's rights activist Fannie Lou Hamer in the biographical film All the Way that finally brought her recognition as an actor. Hind was also acknowledged for her portrayal of Harriet Tubman in WGN America's period drama series Underground. She currently stars on the procedural drama series 9-1-1 in the leading role of firefighter/paramedic Henrietta Hen Wilson. 20th Century Fox Television has renewed the series for the third season. Hind has completed filming in the Hollywood movie Godzilla: King of the Monsters. It is due to be released in mid-2019.
